The Fundable CEO & Ethical Leadership

Begins the journey to becoming a fundable CEO. Starting with developing your “WHY! Simon Sinek says before one can discuss, “what we do”, or “how we do it” we must start with why we are in business. Your Mission, Vision, and Values will be developed. Then our teachings will shift to the importance of equity and that entrepreneurship is a team sport. Team building is vital to long-term success. When it comes to Ethical Leadership, CEOs make many decisions. Oftentimes they include ethical dilemmas. The key challenge is doing the right thing when no one is watching. Doing the right thing takes courage and should not be based on self-interest. These topics and more are addressed during this workshop. Our goal is to develop ethical CEOs.

Social Entrepreneurship and the B-Corp

This course discusses the intricacies of being a true social entrepreneur and what it takes to become certified as a B-Corporation with the IRS and function under the rules and guidelines set forth by that government agency. We will inform you about the benefits of creating a Social Purpose Corporation (SPC). SPC is a type of for-profit legal corporate entity. We will also introduce the concept behind B-Corporations

Personal Financial Literacy for Entrepreneurs

They learn about credit, FICO scores and what they represent interest rates associated with it, different types of financing available as well as other practices that are accessible to the candidate to manage their own personal financial management system. You can’t run a business if you can’t handle your own personal financial house.

Entrepreneur Finance

The Finance Basics for the Entrepreneur section of the Polk Institute Program covers key concepts such as revenue, revenue recognition, calculating cost of goods, calculating gross profit, cost behaviors, calculating contribution margin, understanding variable and fixed costs, calculating break even, defining revenue drivers, building financial projections and forecasting cash flow.

Operations essentials for Entrepreneurs

The System is the Solution as fostered by the noted author Michael E. Gerber in his classic book “The E-Myth, Revisited” (2001)

Key Teaching Points includes The Fatal Assumption: Working in your business vs. Working on your business Creating a business based on systems and people and NOT the founder. The Technician, Manager, Entrepreneur mentalities are keenly defined. What is the Turnkey Revolution? Do you want to create a job or a business that operates without you? We have the answers.

HR for Entrepreneurs

People (our employees) make up one of the three components of the triple bottom line. For most business, people are your most valuable asset. We will train you on how to convert people into a key success factor for any business and a secret weapon of competition.

A key HR challenge is a decision of having employees vs independent contractors.

AB5 (Assembly Bill 5) is a California labor law that determines whether a worker is an employee or an independent contractor. It matters a lot for entrepreneurs, startups, and gig-based businesses.

Primary Market Research & Proof of Concept

A comprehensive introduction to primary market research, proof of concept and Customer Discovery Interviews are introduced in this 4-week workshop. Cohort clients define their target market using Secondary Market Research using demographics, psychographics to create their Personas. Then use Primary Market Research techniques that includes 100 face-to-face online interviews with strangers that average 15 minutes. This Market Research based system takes the Cohort client through their proof of concept. Key marketing information gathered through this process provides invaluable marketing intelligence to base an effective business plan. Proof of concept is a key component to long term success, lack of proof of concept is a key factor of failure of many businesses.

Mental Fitness for The CEO

Mental Fitness for the CEO is paramount to the success of your business. It is lonely at the top, you have no one to talk to, no one to share your challenges, problems and failures. Being vulnerable is a part of leadership in today’s business world. This workshop provides techniques for the CEO to persevere through your downtimes. Leadership is not easy. CEOs today must have a strong mental fitness to maintain a positive outlook for their team and other stakeholders.
